How to make a jeopardy game

You can build a jeopardy-style game in slides, but you'll spend an hour on hyperlinks and still have nothing that keeps score or knows who buzzed first. Here's the faster way, step by step.

Step by step

  1. 1Pick five categories that fit your crowd.
  2. 2Write five clues per category, from 100 (easy) to 500 (hard).
  3. 3Add the answer to each clue.
  4. 4Start a game and put the board on the TV.
  5. 5Share the code so every phone becomes a buzzer.
  6. 6Pick a tile, read the clue, open the buzzers and tap right or wrong.

Writing good clues

One answer

If two answers fit, rewrite the clue.

Steady difficulty

Make the 500 clue clearly harder than the 100.

Know the room

One category about your group gets the biggest cheers.

Why not slides

Slide templates can show a board, but they can't tell who buzzed first or keep the score. A live board does both, and players don't need anything but a phone.
